This medication is used to treat bacterial eye infections and conditions involving swelling (inflammation) of the eyes. It contains neomycin and polymyxin which are antibiotics that work by stopping the growth of bacteria. It also contains dexamethasone, an anti-inflammatory corticosteroid, that works by reducing swelling.DoseThis medication can only be used as drops and the recommended dosage is 1 or 2 drops into the conjunctival sac 4 or 6 times a day. The dose may be reduced after 3 or 4 days if a satisfactory response has been obtained.
Precaution
The following side effects may get better over time as your body gets used to the medication. Let your healthcare provider know immediately if you continue to experience these symptoms or if they worsen over time.
