Dermazin 1% Silver Sulphadiazine Cream 50g is indicated for the treatment and prevention of burn wound infections and infected dermal defects, including bed sores and deep neglected wounds. When applied Silver Sulfadiazine disintegrates in the burn wound, thereby causing a slow and sustained release of silver ions which are known to bind to bacterial desoxyribonucleic acid, thus inhibiting growth and multiplication of bacteria cells without affecting the cells of the skin.
Ingredient
Contains 1g of micronized Silver Sulfadiazine in a hydrophilic base.
Dose
Properly clean burn area, apply Dermazin Cream to a thickness of 2 to 4mm to the burned area or, preferably the cream is applied to a sterile gauze which is then placed over the burn wound. Apply daily until results are achieved.
Precaution
- Skin irritation: Some individuals may experience mild skin irritation, such as redness, itching, or burning.
- Decrease in white blood cell count: Long-term or excessive use of Dermazin Cream may lead to a decrease in white blood cells, potentially increasing the risk of infection.
- Hyperpigmentation: The use of Dermazin Cream may cause temporary graying or discoloration of the skin in the affected area.
