Panadol Baby & Infant Suspension (60ml) is a strawberry-flavored liquid oral medication formulated for the fast, gentle relief of pain and fever in infants and young children aged 2 months to 5 years. The active ingredient is paracetamol, concentrated at 24mg/mL (or 120mg per 5mL). It is sugar-free, alcohol-free, and designed to be gentle on tiny, sensitive stomachs.
Common Uses
The suspension begins reducing fever within 15 to 30 minutes of administration. It provides temporary relief from discomfort associated with:
-
Fever
-
Teething and toothaches
-
Sore throats and earaches
-
Immunisation/vaccination reactions
-
Cold and flu symptoms
Standard Dosing Guidelines
Always calculate the exact dose by your child's weight to avoid under- or over-dosing. The standard pediatric dose is calculated as 10–15 mg of paracetamol per kilogram (kg) of body weight. For this specific 24mg/mL formulation, the standard volume is roughly 0.5 mL per kg:
-
6–8 kg (approx. 2–6 months): 3.0 to 4.0 mL
-
8–10 kg (approx. 6–12 months): 4.0 to 5.0 mL
-
10–12 kg (approx. 1–2 years): 5.0 to 6.0 mL
-
12–16 kg (approx. 2–3 years): 6.0 to 8.0 mL
-
16–20 kg (approx. 3–5 years): 8.0 to 10.0 mL
Note: For babies aged 2 to 3 months, use only under strict medical supervision or for post-vaccination fever, giving a single dose of 2.5 mL.
