DYRADE M 100 MG/125 MG SYRUP is a combination of two medicines: Metronidazole and Diloxanide. Metronidazole is an antibiotic. It kills the bacteria and other microorganisms that cause infections by damaging the DNA. Diloxanide is an amoebicide. It works inside the large intestine to kill the infection-causing amoeba (parasites). Together, they treat your infection effectively.
Dose
Give DYRADE M 100 MG/125 MG SYRUP to your child orally, with food, preferably at a fixed time. Giving it with food helps prevent the risk of developing a stomach upset. The usually prescribed frequency is three times a day, once each in the morning, afternoon, and at bedtime, keeping a gap of a minimum of 6 hours between two doses. Always give the dose as prescribed by the doctor since that depends on the severity and type of infection, body weight, and age of your child. If your child vomits within 30 minutes of intake, repeat the same dose but never double up the dose if it is time for the next dose.
Precaution
- Discontinue DYRADE M 100 MG/125 MG SYRUP and inform your doctor immediately if you get a rash, itchy skin, swelling of face and mouth, or have difficulty in breathing.
- DYRADE M 100 MG/125 MG SYRUP may cause an altered taste. Eating citrus fruit or sipping plenty of water or fruit juice may help.
- Your child must complete the entire course of the medicine. Stopping too soon may cause the pathogen(parasites) to multiply again and can lead to a recurrence of symptoms.
- Discontinue DYRADE M 100 MG/125 MG SYRUP and inform the doctor immediately if your child develops a rash, itchy skin, swelling of face and mouth, or has difficulty in breathing.
- Never save the medicine for future illnesses since its effectiveness in future infections cannot be guaranteed.
