Dulcolax contains Bisacodyl 5mg a Gastro-resistant tablet that works while you sleep, in harmony with your body.
The small, easy to swallow tablets have a gastro-resistant coating, so they only work where they're needed, in the intestine.
Take at night in the comfort of your own home and, when you wake again (between 6-12 hours later), you'll feel able to poo. So, you can expect to feel good inside and out.
Dulcolax 5 mg Gastro-resistant Tablets are best taken at night with a glass of water (swallow - don't chew). Don't take the tablet with other products that reduce the acidity of the upper gastrointestinal tract. This includes milk, antacids and proton pump inhibitors.
Dose
- Adults and children aged 10 years old and above: 1 to 2 tablets before bedtime (it's recommended you start treatment with 1 tablet per day).
- Children 2 to 10 years: 1 tablet once in the evening(preferably at bedtime)
Precautions
- Hypersensitivity, Obstruction or severe impaction, Symptoms of appendicitis or acute surgical abdomen, Vomiting, Rectal bleeding.
- Avoid chronic use; may cause laxative dependence.
- Avoid using in patients with gastroenteritis.
- Do not chew tablet; swallow whole. Do not take within 1 hour of taking antacid or milk.
- Not to be used for more than (>)1 week.
