Otrivine Allergy Relief Nasal Spray is a fast-acting medicated decongestant designed to relieve severe nasal congestion caused by hay fever, pet or dust allergies, colds, and sinusitis. The active ingredient is xylometazoline hydrochloride (0.1% w/v), which works by narrowing the swollen blood vessels in your nose to clear your airways and reduce excessive mucus.
Key Benefits
-
Fast-acting: It starts unblocking your nasal passages within 2 minutes.
-
Long-lasting: Provides continuous, metered-dose relief for up to 10 hours.
-
Targeted delivery: Features a controlled push-button nozzle designed to emit a comfortable fine mist.
How to Use & Dosage
-
Target Group: Strictly for adults and children aged 12 years and over. It is not suitable for children under 12.
-
Dosage: Deliver 1 spray into each nostril up to 3 times daily as needed. Space out applications every 8 to 10 hours and never exceed 3 applications per day.
-
Important Duration Limit: Do not use this spray for more than 7 consecutive days. Using it longer can cause your nasal congestion to return or worsen, a condition known as rebound congestion (rhinitis medicamentosa).
-
Priming: When using a new bottle for the first time, press the pump down 5 times into the air to prime it. If you haven't used it for more than 7 days, re-prime it by spraying 2 times into the air before nasal application.
