CILVAS 10MG TABLET contains Cilnidipine which belongs to the group of medicines called Antihypertensive agents i.e (calcium channel blockers) . It is used to treat hypertension and its associated vascular disorders.
Hypertension (also known as high blood pressure) is a medical condition in which the force of the blood exerted against the walls of the arteries remains very high, and as a result it may lead to severe damage to the blood vessels supplying vital organs, such as heart, kidney or brain. If left untreated, it may cause serious complications such as heart attack, heart failure, stroke or even blindness.
Dose
Cilvas 10 Tablet may be prescribed alone or along with other medicines. The dose depends on the severity of your condition. You can take it at any time of day, with or without food, but it is best to take it at the same time each day. Keep taking it for as long as advised by your doctor. Do not stop this medicine on your own, even if you feel well because high blood pressure often has no symptoms. This makes it hard to identify any sudden spike and if you stop taking it, your condition may get worse.
Precautions
Before taking CILVAS 10MG TABLET, inform your doctor if you have any liver or kidney problems. You must also inform your doctor if you have severe hypotension (low blood pressure), edema or congestive heart failure.
CILVAS 10MG TABLET is not recommended for use in patients with other severe heart problems such as narrowing of heart valves. Consult your doctor before taking CILVAS 10MG TABLET if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
