Flugone DM Cough Syrup is a multi-symptom combination medication used to treat dry, irritating, and allergic coughs associated with the common cold, flu, and upper respiratory tract allergies. It is widely available over-the-counter in Kenya and is formulated for both adults and children.
Active Ingredients
Each 5ml of Flugone DM contains:

Dextromethorphan Hydrobromide (10mg): A cough suppressant that targets the brain's cough reflex to reduce the urge to cough.

Chlorpheniramine Maleate (2mg): An antihistamine that decreases allergy symptoms like watery eyes, sneezing, and a runny nose.

Pseudoephedrine Hydrochloride (30mg): A decongestant that shrinks swollen blood vessels in the nasal passages to clear stuffiness and make breathing easier.
Standard Dosage Guidelines
Always shake the bottle well before use. Standard dosing intervals are usually every 6 to 8 hours as needed:

Adults and children over 12 years: 10 ml per dose (Maximum 40 ml in 24 hours).

Children 6 to 12 years: 5 ml per dose (Maximum 20 ml in 24 hours).

Children 2 to 5 years: 1.25 ml to 2.5 ml per dose. Consult a pediatrician before giving this medication to children under 6 years.

Drowsiness & Dizziness: The antihistamine component can cause sleepiness. Avoid driving or operating machinery.
