Gaviscon Double Action Liquid is an over-the-counter oral suspension formulated to offer fast-acting, dual-relief from heartburn, gastric reflux, and acid indigestion. It is widely used locally and is available in flavours like Peppermint (Mint) and Aniseed.
Dual-Action Mechanism
The suspension works chemically by using antacids to neutralize excess stomach acid, and physically by forming a protective alginate raft that blocks reflux for up to 4 hours.
Composition & Active Ingredients
Per 10ml dose, it contains sodium alginate (500mg), sodium bicarbonate (213mg), and calcium carbonate (325mg). It is sugar-free, gluten-free, suitable for vegans, and contains paraben preservatives.
Dosage & Administration

Adults and children 12+: Take 10ml–20ml after meals and at bedtime, up to four times daily.
