Usage
Used to improve glycemic control along with diet and exercise, and to reduce cardiovascular death or hospitalization for heart failure.
Dosage
The standard dose for Type 2 diabetes, heart failure, and chronic kidney disease is often 10 mg once a day.
Administration
Taken orally once daily, in the morning, with or without food.
How it Works
It is a SGLT2 inhibitor that prevents the kidneys from reabsorbing glucose into the bloodstream, increasing glucose excretion through urine.
Common Side Effects
Hypoglycaemia (when used with other diabetes drugs), urinary tract infections, increased urination, and genital yeast infections.
Warnings
