It is widely used to treat and manage acid-related gastrointestinal conditions, including gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), erosive esophagitis, stomach or duodenal ulcers, and rare acid-hypersecretion conditions like Zollinger-Ellison syndrome.

How to Take It Propery

Timing: It is typically taken once daily, “most often taken before breakfast to control acid and relieve GERD or heartburn symptoms.”

Administration: Delayed-release tablets must be swallowed whole with water. “Tablets should not be chewed or crushed, and should be swallowed whole 1 hour before a meal with some water.” Crushing the tablet destroys its protective enteric coating, stopping it from working effectively.
