Age Restriction: Only for adults and children 12 years and older. Do not give this medication to children or teenagers recovering from chickenpox or flu-like symptoms due to the risk of Reye’s syndrome, a rare but serious illness.

Salicylate Allergy: Do not take this product if you are allergic to aspirin or other salicylates.

Stool and Tongue Discoloration: Bismuth can react with trace sulfur in your mouth and digestive tract, causing a temporary darkening of the tongue or stool. This side effect is completely harmless and will go away after you stop using the medication.

Dehydration: If you are treating diarrhea, make sure to drink plenty of clear fluids to prevent dehydration.
