Touch & Go Tooth Solution 7ml is an over-the-counter, fast-acting topical dental liquid used for the temporary relief of acute toothaches, throbbing dental cavities, and minor mouth irritations.
Active Ingredients and Mechanism
The solution relies on a blend of counter-irritants, natural essential oils, and local antiseptics that target dental nerves:
-
Clove Oil / Eugenol (3.12% v/v): A potent, natural local anesthetic and antiseptic. It directly numbs the exposed or irritated nerve endings inside a cavity while killing local bacteria.
-
Menthol (1.25% v/v): Creates a rapid cooling sensation that distracts from deep, throbbing nerve pain and helps soothe inflamed gum tissues.
-
Cajuput Oil (2.5% v/v) & Tolu Balsam (1.25% w/v): Work together as mild anti-inflammatory agents to reduce localized swelling and tissue irritation.
-
Solvent Ether (1.5% v/v): Acts as a fast-evaporating vehicle that assists the active oils in quickly penetrating deep into the hollow tooth cavity.
Common Uses
-
Acute Toothaches: Provides rapid, localized numbing for pain caused by dental cavities and exposed nerves.
-
Mouth Ulcers & Sores: Soothes temporary discomfort from recurrent aphthous ulcers (canker sores).
-
Denture Irritation: Relieves sore spots on the gums caused by rubbing dentures or orthodontic braces.
Basic Administration Details
-
The "Hollow Tooth" Application:
- Roll a tiny piece of clean cotton wool into a small ball.
- Use it to gently dry out the hollow, aching cavity. Remove and discard it.
- Soak a fresh, clean piece of cotton wool in the Touch & Go solution.
- Press the soaked cotton ball firmly directly into the tooth cavity. Leave it in place to allow the medication to numb the nerve.
-
Frequency: Do not use more than 3 to 4 times a day.
-
Crucial Restriction: Do not swallow this solution. It is strictly for localized, external application inside the mouth. Wipe away any excess liquid pooling on your tongue or lips to avoid accidental ingestion or burning delicate mouth tissue.
Core Side Effects & Precautions
-
Common Side Effects: A strong burning or stinging sensation upon initial application, followed by temporary numbness of the gums, tongue, or inner cheek.
-
Tissue Burn Hazard: If left pooling on healthy, uninjured gums or inner cheeks, the concentrated oils can cause chemical irritation or sloughing of the oral mucosa. Avoid rubbing it into the tissues.
-
Age Restrictions: Avoid using this product in infants and young children unless directed by a pediatrician. It is highly irritating and poses a choking risk if cotton pieces are swallowed.
-
Temporary Nature Warning: This solution is strictly a temporary emergency fix. It does not cure tooth decay, infections, or underlying dental abscesses. Leaving a cavity untreated while mask-blocking the pain can lead to severe structural jaw damage or a systemic infection.
