Travogen contains 10 mg isoconazole nitrate. Travogen is used for the initial or interim treatment of those superficial fungal infections of the skin which are accompanied by superficial inflammatory or eczematous skin conditions, e.g., in the regions of the hands, the interdigital spaces of the feet, and in the groin and genital regions and erythrasma. Travogen helps against all substantially fungal infections of the skin.
Dose
For cutaneous use.
Travogen should be applied once daily to the diseased areas of skin.
A general rule for fungal infections is that topical therapy should be continued for a period of two to three weeks, and for four weeks in cases of treatment-resistant infections (particularly infections between toes).
If prescribed specifically by the doctor, longer periods of treatment are also possible. To avoid renewed infection, the treatment should be continued for at least 2 weeks after the symptoms are resolved.
Fungal infections may be very persistent and prolonged. To ensure the success of treatment, use Travogen cream regularly and adhere to the recommended personal hygiene measures.
Precautions
Do not use Travogen if allergic to isoconazole nitrate or any of the other ingredients of this medicine listed in Description.In case of persistent disease in the interdigital spaces (between the toes), soak a strip of gauze in Travogen cream and place it between the toes.
Regular personal hygiene is essential for successful Travogen treatment. In athlete's foot (tinea pedis), the space between the toes must be thoroughly dried after washing, and stockings or socks should be changed daily.
To avoid renewed infection, change personal linen daily (washcloth, towel, underwear - preferably all of cotton) and these should be washed in very hot or even boiling water.
If Travogen is applied to the genital areas, some of its ingredients may cause damage to latex products such as condoms or diaphragms. Therefore, these may no longer be effective as contraception or as protection against sexually transmitted diseases such as HIV infection. Talk to the doctor or pharmacist if more information is required.
