Vithioll Promethazine Syrup 125ml is used for Bronchiectasis, Sneezing, Allergic disorders, Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, Nose itching, Eye irritation and other conditions. Vithiol Promethazine Syrup may also be used for purposes not listed in this medication guide.
Vithiol Promethazine is a cough syrup used for the alleviation of unproductive and irritating coughs in adults and children of 2 years and above. It contains carbocisteine and promethazine.
Promethazine is an antihistamine while carbocisteine is a mucolytic that reduces the thickness of the sputum and makes the sputum easy to remove.
Vithiol Promethazine contains Carbocisteine and Promethazine as active ingredients.
Vithiol Promethazine Syrup works by reducing the viscosity of sputum; blocking histamines or nitrogenous compounds.
Dose
Adults 15ml three times in a day
Children 6- 12 yrs 7.5ml three times a day.
It should not be given to children less than one year
Precaution
Hypersensitivity to Vithiol Promethazine Syrup is a contraindication. In addition, Vithiol Promethazine Syrup should not be used if you have the following conditions:
-Active peptic ulceration
-Allergic to it or any of its ingredients
-Children below the age of two years
-Concomitant therapy with monoamine oxidase inhibitor inhibitors
-Depression
